Have some furniture or fixtures that could use
a little character…or an old age worn look? Get it to Earthen
Exposure and have it transformed in to a piece that looks like it
could tell your great grandparents a story. With
the end goal always being that of an authentic look, the wood is
worked in areas that would receive wear naturally and the metal
patinas are real, not synthetic faux spray-ons.
What can I, or am I willing to distress?
Any thing made of copper, brass or wood. Some objects however, depending
on existing finish and style, lend themselves better than others
for a quality look. For that reason, only select objects will be
accepted. Email photos of what you want distressed or better yet,
bring the object to me for inspection.
If a large object is accepted, you must pick
up upon completion. If that is not possible, I will use a professional
packaging and shipping service provider and charge you what they
charge me plus $5 setup fee.
A few examples are below.

German made hammered copper
light fixture with chemical free patina. |
| Brass light fixture
with chemical free patina. Also, the chain this light was originally
hung from was replaced with abaca rope I twisted the electrical
cord in to. The abaca complimented the fixture and the cord
was concealed beautifully. Attachment was made via hangman's
noose on the bottom and a simple loop on top with a crimp made
from reclaimed copper wire. |

Please note:
If you are not comfortable with uncertainties,
this distressing service may not be for you. Only a certain amount
of control is possible and there is always the risk the finished
object will not be as you envisioned. Once an object is distressed,
it can not restored to its original state.
